Solemn Poems by Kaushik
Perceiving Unblurry
This painting beside me
The one that I drew
While being intoxicated
By dreams not few.
The girl in the movie
The bee outside
Words come to mind
Pretty and Honey.
Synonymous in ways
Worlds apart
Drawing parallels, a hobby of mine
A pile of Hay, a field of Tulips.
Sand and seashells
Beneath my being,
Translucent clouds dim
Slightly the moon above.
I patiently wait for the clearest sky
To perceive unblurry, beloved Lune above.
Clouds go, clouds come
I patiently wait for my clearest sky.
I walk toward the waves
Feet wet, salted hair
I feel like I’m flying
Just by standing here.
Far away in the ocean, where it meets the sky
I see a light, all the way from there
It shone on my feet, Illuminating silver water
Magnificent reflection, all the way from there
I look to the heavens,
I now have my clearest sky,
Beloved Lune, translucent wane
I perceive unblurry,
Words come to mind
Pretty and Honey
Thus is how I drew,
The painting beside me.
I am a man of metaphor,
I am the Bee outside.
Everything I love is Yellow
"I'll really miss all the yellow", he said and sailed his cruise.
For he knew a time would come when he and yellow would unite anew.
Until then he'd wait in solemn, feeling blue.
Little they knew of all he held, the man with dreams untouchable they wept.
Yellow now behind, his pallet plenty black and white.
Purpose and ambition seemingly Gray, he knew he'd find his yellow someday.

Venus in my Veranda
Stood on my veranda
Looked up at the sky
There’s that shiny thing
Shining below moon
Shines like a star
Looks so cool
Cool enough to hang
Hang around with moon
Could I join in too?
Put on my superman cape
Leap towards this boon
Cold air and then no air
I’m flying supersonic
Towards my luminous friends
Venus and moon.
